Introduction

2016The new open-air exhibition project Sculpture Line is a unique opportunity to present sculptures
and art objects to both citizens and visitors of the Czech capital in an attractive setting.
Prague itself provides the best exhibition place, be it frequented areas or less-expected locations,
both in the centre and outskirts of the metropolis. Works of art by leading local & international
artists interact directly with the city and invite you for a walk of discovery. The aim of the festival
is to enrich the public space, offer a new view of the architectural context and, hopefully, become
a new tradition. We invite you to take to the streets where art awaits you. Join the Line, enjoy the Line!

Ondřej Škarka

festival director

The main aim of the Sculpture Line festival is to enrich the public space and come up with a new tradition, reminiscent of similar events in many capitals of the world. We feel that Prague lacked such an event and I hope both citizens and visitors of the city will enjoy the festival as much as we do. I am glad we summoned a great team of contributors and colleagues, and my big thanks belong to all the authors as well as partners, without whom this festival would not be possible. Join the Line and enjoy the Line. See you in the streets.

Michal Trpák

festival curator

Sculpture Line is not an exhibitionj for a small group of experts, nor it is a strictly defined conceptual project. On the contrary - it is a unique event encompassing the whole city. Everry single "stop" of our Sculpture Line offers a new surpirse, a new experience and a new view of the places you may know so well or see for the very fisrt time. Thanks to the festival art comes to meet people directly in the streets, for a period of four months this event brings about new topics for discussions and invites you to experience the city in a new way, as if with new eyes. Hope you enjoy this form of discovery and will be back to visit the festival next year.
