Dan Trantina a Petr Sadofsky

Dan Trantina a Petr Sadofsky

*1965

Dan Trantina and Peter Sadofsky began collaborating on joint projects in 2014. They are co-authors of their works and work together simultaneously in sculpture and on canvas. Their first joint work was a monumental sculpture for the European Parliament in Brussels, which was unveiled on 26 May 2015 by EU Culture Commissioner Tibor Navracsics. Sadofsky & Trantina's wide range of artworks develops into a sophisticated concept of aesthetics. Life, politics, history, or media, for these artists there is no subject that cannot be transformed into art. Astute self-irony is a big part of their strategy: borrowing from all aspects of culture ensures their own relevance within it. Sadofsky & Trantino's works are grandiose embodiments of ego and a megalomaniacal approach to sculpture and painting. Their diverse methodologies and previous experience give them the edge as multimedia artists who are able to create unparalleled works of art in any category.

Dan Trantina is one of the most outstanding representatives of the Czech painting of the middle generation. He graduated from the Studio of Figurative and Monumental Painting of Jiří Načeradský at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
