Born in 1964 in Tallin, Estonia. 1985 - 1991 MA studies in Painting, Academy of Arts, Tallin, 1985 - 1992 Graphics and History of Arts at Studio 22, Hermetria, Tallin. 1991 exchange scholarship, Muthesius University in Kiel, Germany, since 1993 she lives and works in Germany. Inga Aru is an artist and curator. Teaching assingments in painting, art in public spaces and architectural art commissions. Since 1986, numerous exhibitions in the Baltics, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, the Czech republic, Japan, Korea, China, USA and Germany.
Two steel columns stand as guardians. Just a cut through the steel plate creates the positive and negative of the female silhouette and forms the soft contour for the vertical lines for the columns. Not always recognizable at first glance, but from different perspectives and in interaction with light and shadow within the object, the viewer becomes aware of the female figure.
