Two wonderful years of the RE-USE sculpture project are over.

It all started in September 2022, when we started preparing the selection process for young talents. Then 32 participants from four countries presented their designs at the hackathon. Three teams were given the chance to realise their installations, namely in Venice, Italy, Kópavogur, Iceland and Ústí nad Orlicí. This year we unveiled all the works.

We are pleased to have been able to bring together artists with experts from different disciplines to create works that reflect the impacts of climate change and promote sustainable living. This is a big topic at the moment and it is important to discuss it again.

What installations have been added in the selected cities?

Ústí nad Orlicí - The Sleeping Beauty was created by a team consisting of Kateřina Vidimová, Jozef Pilát, Rebekka Ashley Egilsdóttir and Anas Mghar.

Venice - BRICOLE was created by the team of Aneta Filipová, Magdaléna Bišová, Gabriele Provenzano and Francesca Stoppani.

Kópavogur - Sound-scape was created by the team of Chiara Lusso, Linde Hanna Rongen, Matyáš Barák and Michal Machciník.

We would also like to thank the cultural association areacreativa42, Thetis Spa, the cultural centre CREA Cantieri del Contemporaneo, the city of Ústí nad Orlicí and Gerðarsafn Kópavogur Art Museum for their cooperation.
