Mlýnská strouha

The so-called Pilsen Venice was the unique water feature in the centre of the city, the water canal that led the Mlýnská Strouha to the Panský Mill which stood in the places of today‘s Marriott Hotel. The Mlýnská Strouha was burned down in the first half of the 20 th century, but the stone arches of the late Gothic Prague Bridge were partly preserved. The area under the bridge was preserved in the form of a grassy valley until 2008, when the park began to be transformed into its current form. The original mill race today resembles an artificial lake with grassy shores and wooden wharfs that entices people to walk and sit in the shade of trees, with an interesting
small island with an old Ginko tree. You can reach the Mlýnské Strouhy by a pedestrian way from the city centre, along which you can go through the underpass and then through the Štruncovy sady to the Plzeňský Prazdroj brewery.
