DEPO2015

The original sugar factory dating back to 1869 gave its name to the surrounding streets of the area, which served as a depot of the Pilsen City Transport Company for more than a hundred years. The vast area has undergone many modifications, even though it has not been in use for modern urban public transport due to its lack of space. It became clear in 2005 that it was necessary to look for new uses for the site and the City of Pilsen won the tender for implementing the European Capital of Culture project in 2010. In 2015, a significant part of the programme and the culture of the building area remained even after the end of the project in the newly renamed DEPO2015 brownfield. DEPO2015 has several halls, an exhibition area and smaller ateliers. Besides culture, you can find here Coworking shared offices or an open Makerspace workshop. Currently, a reconstruction project is being prepared with the aim of including culture and art in the future.
