The house by Ladislav Machoň, now known as Machoňova passage, was built between1924-1925. The passage of the house connects Karlovina district and the center
of the new town. It was originally a common house on the main street. However, the owners felt that two shops in the street would bring little profit. So they decided to build a “grand palace“. The facades are decorated by four sculptures by Karel Dvořák - fisherman, textile worker, carpenter and dyer.
