Ondřej Bílek studied the graphic art school in Jihlava and subsequently, in 2014, graduated from the Studio of Sculpture 1 under the guidance of prof. ak. soch. Michal Gabriel at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology. Currently, he is a freelancer and cooperates with the Moravian Museum on reconstructions of appearance based on skulls.
“People have a certain visual form fixed in their brain for each single thing. Thanks to that they are able to determine in a split second what they are looking at. Most people perceive the polar bear as white and fluffy. I have broken this form by depriving the animal of its hair and colour. Thus I deprived the viewers of the primary certainty of knowing what exactly they were looking at."
