Sankt Ottilien Archabbey
Olga Golos
Olga Golos is a Russian sculptor currently living and working in Germany. With a Diploma (2010) from the Metalwork Department of Saint Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design, she moved to Munich to study Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2017. She has since completed projects at residencies in Germany, Austria, Korea and the USA. Olga is interested in what constitutes personality - how a person can simultaneously be an individual and part of a collective. She explores how multitude and individuality amplify each other by developing installations made from similar structures with manifold distinct forms.
Flash Points
In her most recent work "Flash Points” (2020), Olga creates an installation consisting of 25 sculptures and sculpture groups, spread outside over the monastery garden of Sankt Ottilien in Eresing, Germany. With their straight edges, strong colours and strict symmetry the new arrivals stand in stark contrast with their century-old, organically grown surroundings.
