"It is probably known that female swimmers and other floating ladies are my life’s theme. Legs from water are something a bit different. It is a part of handstand visible above the water level and this is usually the most joyous expression of children and girls in water. Well, I also sometimes give it a try. This tomfoolery makes happy even those who watch it; and how to discover the joy also in places where girls usually do not bathe, or where they sometimes bathe but it’s just too cold for bathing at the moment? A sculpture can replace all sorts of people – dead poets, saints but also criminals. So why legs from water should not have a monument if they represent the symbol of the most important thing why we are here - the joy of life?"

Nord Art - Büdelsdorf
NordArt ranks among the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe. Year after year, the exhibition designed by chief curator Wolfgang Gramm, redefines itself anew, setting new priorities, focusing on a country with its own pavilion, cooperating with embassies, cultural institutions and curators of the respective countries. In synergy with the imposing backdrop of the historic iron foundry, the exhibits of more than 200 selected artists from around the world develop their own unique atmosphere, taking visitors on an unforgettable world trip through art.
The bridge is perfectly completed by a journey of NordArt sculptures to Prague. In cooperation with "Sculpture Line" festival some NordArt sculptures will be on display this summer.
The Kunstwerk Carlshütte is a non-profit cultural initiative of the internationally operating ACO Group and the towns of Büdelsdorf and Rendsburg.
