František Skála

František Skála

*1956

František Skála graduated from the of Secondary Professional School of Applied Art in Prague, where he studied woodcarving, and later graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, department of TV Studio and Film Graphics. A member of the art group Tvrdohlaví (1987 – 1991). In 1991, he was awarded the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize and won the 1st prize at Arte Giovane di Europa in Bolzano, Italy. In 1993, he represented the Czech Republic at the 45th Venice Biennale, displaying his drawings and objects made during a 850 km pilgrimage to Italy. In 2010, he received the Ministry of Culture State Award for his contributions to the fine arts. The Wallenstein Riding School is currently hosting an exhibition of his work created since 2004.
